Dilemma of Muslim students who come out from schools and universities

By

Abdul Hannan Siwani Nadvi

Importance of education is unarguable. Islam is the first religion that acknowledged the world about knowledge and education. The first four verses of Qura'an reveled to Prophet Mohammad (Sallal laho alaihe wasalam), states only about education and knowledge.

Allah says; Read [O Muhammad!] in the name of your Lord who created. (96.1) He created man from a clot. (96.2) Read, and your Lord is the Most Honorable (96.3) who taught with the pen. (96.4)

In these four verses, Allah says nothing why He selected Prophet Mohammad (Sallal laho alaihe wasalam) as His messenger, or what he has to do, Allah keeps silent at this moment.

He starts delivering His message to Prophet Mohammad (Sallal laho alaihe wasalam) with word “Read”. It's mean reading and making literate is a very most and significant tool in changing the phenomenon of the world.

This time, education is the most and significant topic of discussion in every country. Getting education and establishing world-class educational institutions has become a distinction in this era. Even the trend of going abroad, taking admission in famous and prominent schools and universities, and studying there is advancing very rapidly.

This is a very good sign and it shows that world has conceded the endowment of education.

Now, when it has been established that education is very must for every individual; question arises; which education is the best for human beings? Which education should be taught in schools and universities? Does modern educational system which is continuing in schools and universities, is the best educational system? Does the syllabus is being taught in schools and universities playing a role in damaging Muslims identity in India? Does current modern educational system depriving Muslims from Islam?

Such as, there are endless questions about modern education and its systems that are being applied into schools and universities.

First we see which education Islam likes.

Qura'an sheds the light with details on the education that is the best for all human beings and humanities. Qura'an encourages human beings to get all education that makes them closer to Allah, helps them in protecting society from bad elements and makes them a civilized nation and citizens.

Here is a misperception rules in Muslim community that Islam dislikes technical education, in other words modern education, or the education which is going on in schools and universities this time.

This perception and notion have been made by Muslims themselves because they kept themselves away from Qura'an and Islam. Muslims do not read Qura'an, as they understand reading the Qura'an would leave them away from modern education, and thus, they could not become a successful engineer or doctor or advocate, or architecture etc.

Now; let us see what Qura'an says;

Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? (17) And at the heaven, how it is raised? (18) And the mountains, how they are rooted (and fixed firm)? (19) And at the earth, how it is outspread? (20) (Surah. AlGhashiyah)

In these verses, Qura'an asks Muslims and everyone to look camel, heaven, mountains and earth that how and why it is created and made useful for human beings. These verses of Qura'an ask Muslims to do research, open research institutions and teach their children the education that makes them closer to Allah.

Qura'an wants that human beings do develop themselves, fly into sky, use laptop, mobile, I-Pad, I-Phone, and take benefits from all technologies are available in this planet. In response of using these technologies, human beings prevent themselves from joining any partner with Him, protect themselves from all sins that make Allah angry, and be thankful of Him that He awarded them these graces and facilities so that they can live in this world peacefully and establish the system of justice for all humanities.

These and other Qur'anic verses reject Muslim's misperception about modern education. So, this education is not banned in Islam. However, the system of this education Muslims are getting in schools and universities in India is a questionable.

Eventually, young Muslim generation that is going to schools and universities to take modern education turning them out from Islamic teachings as well as the tendency to keep Islamic identity alive is also decreasing in young Muslim generation.

This young Muslim generation is unaware about Islam, rights of parents, rights of neighbors, rights of common man; Islamic history; Islamic teachings; Islamic role and regulations; Muslim's history; how Islam spread in Mekkah; how it reached to other countries; what had happened with Muslims in Spain; how Muslim rulers established Islamic system; who are Muslims scientists; how many Muslim scientists were; what were their contribution in science; how the fall of Muslims started; how many years Muslims ruled on India; how Islam arrived here; what Muslim rulers did in this country; what were their history; what Muslims did with other nations and vice versa? What is the economic system of Islam? What are the rights of Muslim women in Islam? And such as a lot of questions and information this Muslim generation does not know.

Today, Muslim names have much familiar in every professional field, but hardly their attitude and their culture shows that they are the followers of Islam.

AMU, JMI, Jamia Hamdard and other Muslim universities had been established to arrange a best platform of modern education to Muslim students, producing an Islamic atmosphere in their campuses so that Muslim students able to play a role in society with Islamic identity.

This concept, however, has changed. These Muslim universities in making of its secular image, failed to create the generation that be Imam in modern education as well as they be a true follower of Islam too.

Most Muslim students, who come out from these universities do not know ABCD of Islam. The young Muslim generation that is studying there is growing up in the atmosphere that is turning them out from Islamic atmosphere and Islamic education.

Every year, Muslim universities produce thousands of Muslim students, but they go where; joining of this new blood with Indian society why leaves no effect on Muslim's situation.

This time Muslim's presence in medical, technical, IT and other professional fields is on rise. Their situation is transforming very rapidly. Young Muslim generation is thinking very positively. Educational rates have increased in Muslim community. Muslims, specially, poor Muslims have learned the tactic to fight against poverty and illiteracy.

The situation, which was after the independence, is not now. On various levels, Muslims gained their confidence. But, the saddest angel of it, this young Muslim generation is not getting proper education that teach them about Islam, Muslims and Islamic history enabling them to play a role in technical fields.

Many Muslims, this time, are working in professional fields and they have respect and place there. However, they unable to present the true image of Islam in their respected fields, they never went to Masjid to offer prayers there, even Friday prayer. They do not know what are Zakat, Namaz, Haj etcetera; so, how we expect some hopes from them?

None of them can be seen as a defender of Islam and Muslims. Even many of them support anti-Islamic movement, or anti-Islamic ideologies, and sometimes, they pose more dangerous than Hindutva goons; why is it happening? Why Islam and Muslims find no sympathizers even from young Muslim generation.

The reason is very clear. These young Muslim girls and boys have no knowledge about Islam and Muslims. They spend five years or seven years in schools and colleges; where they get technical education; but, there is no arrangement of delivering the education about Islam and Islamic history to them.

My so many friends who are the students of these universities and colleges, they neither perform prayers five time a day, nor keep fast during the month of Ramzan. Their life style lands me in shock; what education they got; how they can defend Islam and Muslims in that atmosphere? How we expect from them that they will present the true picture of Islam and Muslims before other nations?

Muslims, as a Muslim community and as a believer of Islam hardly survive in this country, if this situation remains to continue.

Staying of young educated Muslim generations away from Islam and Islamic history is not a good sign for Indian Muslims.

Our ancestors didn't fight for the generation that is Imam in modern education; while it knows nothing about its history, its religion and its identity.

Need of the hour that Muslim intellectuals think on this angel; why this kind of negligence, specially about Islam is increasing in Muslim students; which kind of Muslim generation growing is; how this young generation can be a fruitful for Islam, Muslims and the country?

Modern education; avails and bad effects on society

By

Abdul Hannan Siwani Nadvi

Usually, this perception rules in society that modern education system requires no reformation and changes in syllabus, as it is being taught in English medium, besides it, a committee, comprising well-qualified educationists monitor the syllabus every time and every year and the changes to be made, if it is necessary, as well as, governments spent lakhs rupees every year on monitoring and preparing new syllabus.

In this era, in which we are living, education and information has become a part and parcel of the society. Even no one can survive without it, particularly, in this age, when every time and every day we meet with new technologies.

Every country is promoting education and bringing awareness among people to remove illiteracy from the society.

Today, a network of educational institutions has mushroomed in every country. Every year, hundreds and thousands of students come out from these institutions. These students according to their qualifications and capacities, get the job anywhere in the world and try to start a new life.

No doubt; revolution of human beings in technical fields made the life very easy. It reduced the travel times from days into few hours. It made human beings capable to fly into sky. Computers, Internet, flying airplanes, mobile, 3d, I-pad, I-phone etc are the greatest innovations of this modern education system.

These are some advantages of this modern education system. Its momentous role in bringing new technologies and introducing it with the world is undeniable.

Now; let us see the other side of this modern education system and its undeniable horrible effects on entire world.

In this era, when materialism has slinked into the society, everyone is dreaming to get higher education enabling him to make more money.

Eventually, this time the concept of education has changed. When we were children, we had been reading that education helps in building up a civilized society. Education makes human beings a good citizen where every individual and older people enjoy a good atmosphere.

Today, it is called stereotype ideas. Education, particularly, higher education is being taken to make life style batter. In short words, education has become a source of making money, whether it comes from illegal ways.

Modern education system is making Engineers, doctors, architect, great businessmen, economists, politicians, educationists and so on, but this modern education system didn't make generation that spread peace in the society; the generation that keep itself away from crimes; the generation that respect their parents; not betray them from their homes and from their lives; the generation whose education, manner, behavior instill the society with happiness and cheerfulness; the generation whose presence in the society force bad elements to leave it; the generation who help each others, not kill each others for politics, for religion, for getting higher position; the generation who spread love, peace, respect and honor.

Does this modern education system delivered like that generation? Does this modern education system saved the society from bad deeds?

These things might be named stereotyped ideas. But, why entire India relied behind Anna Hazare to fight corruption? Will corruption to be finished just passing Lokpal bill? In the society, where from top to bottom everything is not in its right place, even the money to be paid to take breath; and where the educated generation is itself is the part of this corruption and incapable in removing it from the society; can any movement finish the corruption overnight? This is just an idle talk.

Any way, we were discussing on modern education system. So, the students of these modern educational institutions might be a master in assembling various spare parts? They may have learned how the boss been impressed? How can the business be progressed? And so on.

However, do we ready to believe; technologies, innovations, establishment of new institutions and new research to boost economic condition not work everywhere. There are so many faculties in daily life which require no technologies.

The generation which is the product of this modern education system, is unaware about other relations which are an essential part of every society. For example, the students come out from these modern educational institutions do not know the rights of parents; rights of neighbors; rights of wife; rights of husband; and about vary, very small things that play in keeping relationships save from falling into chaos.

The education is being delivered there cannot be used in homes, where parents, wife, sisters, brothers, relatives and neighbors meet with each others; share some very precious moments that convey a wave of happiness for everyone.

This is a very important question and every human being has to search the answer of this question, as it is related to the society, where we live in. It is related to the life of every individual, whether he lives in anywhere of the world.

Does education's aims are mere delivering technical education? Can only technical education solve all elements of the society?

Do standing the society on the verge of collapse; advanced greed and eagerness of making more money in the people, and struggling of new and young generation with irremediable disease not call us to think how much modern education successful is?

There is a question; why modern educated generation and educated society has failed in solving the elements, society and everyone is struggling with it? Why modern education system became failed in throwing the good result out?

As literacy rates in the country, as well as, across the glob are on rise, crime rates are increasing, rather than reducing,

Every year, thousands of educated students holding degrees from honorable and prominent educational institutions are coming out, on the other hand, corruptions, price rise, new and irremediable diseases, rapes, murder, occupying other's plots, embezzlement, sexual exploitation of women and girls, significantly, falling of young generation into drugs and immoral activities that are destroying their health and like that incidents are taking place more. Why; what are the reasons behind them; are we thought for a moment about it?

When the time comes for these students to enlighten the world with their knowledge and to show what they have learned there, they instill the world with wars and bloodsheds; is it not true?

These students of this modern education system use new technologies to destroy others, as the glob has experienced it in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan, where hundreds of thousands of people fallen as dead in just few seconds, and this time, it is being reproduced in Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Palestine and in various parts of the world. Are these facts wrong? Who did it; these deeds have been done by most educated generation and by most developed country; is it not true?

It is seen; when modern education system suggested nothing, as well as, the pressure from various sections of the society was mounting on government to tackle immoral activities that were spreading very rapidly and when there was no way but to take some steps, so, the government legalized the crimes and immoral activities, various western and European countries legalized some crimes in order to decrease crime rates.

Prostitution, Gay culture, Lesbian culture, and various other immoral activities, such as live in relationship etc, which were a taboo in the society legalized in the name of fundamental rights, as current and modern education system was incapable in bringing any solution to prevent it from happening.

Is it not true; increasing the trend of legalizing immoral activities landed the society into irremediable disease?

Aids is the latest example of these immoral anarchism. This disease has gulped down hundreds of thousands of lives in the world. Same numbers are lying in beds and the fear is that hundreds of thousands would be killed in years to come due to this disease. Doctors, scientists and new technologies are incapable in removing this disease from the society. Who will take the responsibility of these deaths? Does modern education system not to be hold accountable for this chaos?

This is a bitter truth of our society, but, we know the world and society cannot accept this big blunder of this modern education system even millions to be killed in hiding the truth, as it is happening everywhere.

These facts state that innovations and new technologies failed in solving every bad element of the society.

Laptop, computer, cars, metro trains and browsing Internet cannot solve every problem of human beings.

My intention is not of undermining these technologies. Technologies shine in its place. Technologies dominance in the society cannot make it free from all bad elements.

The fact itself is stating the bad effects of modern education. Powerful countries are using education to make more dangerous weapons that empower them to destroy whole world in just few minutes. All new technologies are being used to destroy this planet. This time, entire glob is presenting a scene of war. Peace just remained a word. Every community and every country is killing oppositions claming it is bringing reformations and peace.

It is bitter fact that establishment of world-class higher education system cannot remove the castes and untouchable system from the society. Caste and creed have become the measure for the people of this class to get benefits from government's schemes.

If we are educated, then why the world is living in war? Why justice finds no a place in the world? Why these technologies are being used to kill us? Why castes left the communities divided? Why government's every effort to bring the crime to an end meets with failure?

If modern Education makes human being a civilized person, if it prevents society and every individual from falling into corruptions, violence, war, conflicts, rapes, killing, and bigotry, if it helps government in removing poverty and bad deeds that makes the society a hell, then why every person in the society is still struggling for a peaceful atmosphere, for a society free from corruption, poverty, violence? How long time, the students of these institutions need to defeat these bad deeds?

Whether we have to accept it or not, this time, the flag of all illegal activities, on national and international level, is in the hand of educated people; why is it so?

In my childhood, we had been lessening; dacoits came; dacoits came; today, there is no dacoit in our society. Today, we never heard that dacoit came; because their place taken by today's educated people who came out from these modern schools and universities.

Million rupees scams; occupying the resources of other countries, massacres of human beings, destroying religious places and displacing of poor class of the society are a work of these educated people.

If modern education becomes failure in preventing the society from these elements or the generation that is getting education is incapable in solving the problems of the society, it’s mean, either education or the generation that is getting this modern education, is unaware how to be faced and put the problems on an end.

These facts and truth of our society stating blatantly that time has come to bring the changes in modern education system.

The education which constitute fear of Allah in boys and girls, prevent them from bad elements, and play a role in making them a good citizen, must be built up.

The education that makes them feel of accountable of everything they do in their daily life, secretly or openly, must be introduced. The education that teaches people to live as human beings not like as animal, must be introduced there.

The modern education system must be reformed, because technologies always not shine, but right education always remains into work, as well as, right education can save the world and society from chaos and destruction.

Any way, there is less hope that this so-called educated generation will be ready to bring reformation in modern education system, but, if it continues into effect without changes in its syllabus, a day this world would be break down.

Tsunami, floods, climate change, wars, earthquakes; destructions in nuclear power plants in Japan, increasing diseases and violence in the society and poverty, that all are a handy work of this modern education system are an alarming signals for all and for every individual that the world is near on collapse if the changes, very urgently, not to be made in modern education system.

Leave blaming Ulema; write your destiny yourself

By

Abdul Hannan Siwani Nadvi

As the age of research work, quality education and divine power that had been empowering Muslims to face the challenges of every era moved out from them, throughout the world, the tendency to push the blame on Ulema, holding them accountable for every failure, pointing the fingers toward some specific Islamic laws and declaring the syllabus are being taught in Madrasas and religious institutions as an outdated syllabus and terming Madrasas as a symbol of old age, grown very rapidly in Muslims, especially, in Muslim community in India.

When Sacchar commission report makes clear the air about Madrasas stating that the percentage of Muslims who approach Madrasas to get the education is just only 4%, even the financial conditions of Madrasas, teachers and students, who study there is not much better, as well as, it is known to all Muslims, Madrasas, except some, have no good infrastructure due to very bad financial condition as it is being run by the donation of Muslims only; does expecting from 4 % minority to solve all problems of Muslims, as there are a plenty of problems, justifiable?

Indeed, laziness, dullness, distancing themselves from hard working, selecting short-cut ways to make money, wasting the time in watching films and serials, or taking part in unnecessary works and making themselves busy in nonsense subjects, or trying to get awards, and fame by making comments against Ulema paved the way for majority of Muslims to put Ulema on target so that they can cover their failure and no one blame them for the deteriorating situation of Muslims in India.

Pushing the blame on Ulema and pointing the finger toward Madrasas is very easy work, but conceding our own faults and mistakes is very hard work for most of us. We forget what our behavior with Ulema and Madrasas are? How Madrasas people get donations, and how they collect it from every Muslim so that they can arrange a free education to poor Muslims in Madrasas?

Is collecting donation an easy work? When the representatives of Madrasas knock the doors of Muslim homes and ask some donation for Madrasas, during the month of Ramzan or in normal days, so what most of us do; did we imagine it? Why we misbehave with them? Why we treat them as they are the beggars? Even, my personal experience is very harsh, a very few people behave them with respect and dignity, most of us close the door before them, some of us make shill-shally, some of us say; come after two hours, when the representatives come after two hours, then it is said to them, there is nobody in the home, come tomorrow, when these representatives come again, we do not open the door, or it is said to them from window, go; and never come, some of us say to them; we are against Madrasas, hence we will not give the donation, if they agree to pay the donation so give them just 10 rupees, or 5 rupees, or 20, or 30 rupees and these representatives of Madrasas, despite of this misbehavior, go to door-to-door, room to room, house to house, knock every door to collect 5, or 10, or 20, or 50 rupees, some of us drive them off, some of us use abusive language against them, some of us advise them to leave the Madrasas, some of us say to them “you cheat the people” but no one ask them, please come in my home, take a tea, take a cold water, or pls take lunch with us today, or tomorrow; most of us; through out hundreds of thousands of questions on them for just giving 10 or 20 rupees; such as you are from where? Who are you? Which Madarsa is? And at last, unwillingly, grudgingly, and resentfully we become agree to give just only 10 or 20 rupees; while thousands rupees are being spent in just purchasing of only one item because our children likes it.

This is the harsh reality of Muslims behavior with the representatives of Madarasas; we feel hesitation in just donating 10 or 20 rupees; while a particular class in Muslim community always blames Ulema; targets Madrasas and its education system. This class always demands of computer education to be taught there, can any one let me know how much the cost of one computer? How much people from us gifted only one computer to any Madarsa; if any one gives computer or funds to Madrasas; so in response of it, he wants to be listed in members of Madarsa, wants to interfere in Madrasas education system, I ask common Muslim; how much they pay for his one children for his studying in English School? Five thousand per month, or 6 thousand per month or more, however, the cost of Madrasas student for one year exceeds not more than 5 thousand. Madrasas itself bears the cost of books, breakfast, dinner and lunch and so on; no one goes there to ask from officials of Madrasas how they arrange meals every day for hundreds and thousands of Madrasas students.

How much from us visited Madrasas? How much people from us tested the foods are being served to Madrasas students? How many organizations visited Madrasas? If some visited there so it was for his personal interest, for his popularity, for his fame; do these not the reality?

We want high class educated and well personalized graduate come out from the Madrasas, we, however, face trouble in just giving 10 or 20 rupees as donation, a family can spend thousands rupees for just happiness of their children; a family can purchase puppets; video games; CD players; and so on and so on but in donating just few rupees; they think these Madrasas people made them bankrupt and penniless.

The same situation is about Imam in our country, two thousand and three thousand, if Masjid is big so five thousand is the salary of Imam in our country. Most of Masjids are being run by the donation and with the help of Muslims. Sometimes, Masjids administration faces so many problems in giving this salary to Imam too; can anyone tell me a family can survive in this age of high price just only in this small amount?

No doubt, there are hundreds and thousands of Muslims whose donation, help and sacrifices are helping the owners of Madrasas to run these institutions without a hope of prize or award.

I would like to tell you, Ulema besieged themselves into the boundary of Madrasas and religious education only. Rest of fields is leaved and free for entire Muslim community. Why they are not trying their luck in these fields, Muslim community is in need of good Doctors, Engineers, Scientists, architects and so on.

When it has been made clear that only 4% or less than 4% approach to Madarasas; question itself arises, rest 96% goes where?

India, as an Independent country has completed its 63 years, on the other hand, Muslims bearing just two Universities on their shoulder, are moving on; one of it is Aligarh Muslim University and the second one is Jamia Millia Islamia.

There are various richest Muslims, and there are hundreds of scholars, professors and others whose salary and monthly income is above from more than one lack and who have great respect, relations and sources within, and outside of the community, why they are not trying to build another university, why the network of schools and Universities cannot be deployed across the country?

In these 63 years, Ulema, by collecting of one rupee and two rupees and despite of various difficulties, established a network of Madrasas throughout the country, then why these powerful leaders cannot gift any new university to Indian Muslims?

First we have to change our attitude, our behavior and our manner. Change our minds and be ready to make sacrifices; nothing will happen if blaming on Ulema and Madrasas remains to continue.

Muslims should leave the tendency of blaming Ulema or holding religious class accountable for the failure. What the reality is, this time, Muslims, by and large, are passing with fall. They are backward in every field. We could defeat this fall if every Muslim to be stand and fight with problems as per his capability. Differences and oppositions have a place in every community, but in Muslims, it is being used as a tool to escape from discharging the responsibilities.

If every Muslim does his own work, I think no one can stop them from arriving at higher position in the world. If every professional Muslim does his work in his field he will see the result in just few years. The society will be changed and Muslims will shine, if Muslims do this.

In this society in which voices arise against Ulema and Madrasas, we observe that two small children, who were living in slum areas and were from poor families, win the Oscar awards and find no problem in achieving these goals, how is it happened? Muslims have to think about it hundreds and thousands time.

Many times, we saw, in Delhi, boys and girls who were not Muslims and were from very poor families had been reading, studying and finishing their home work sitting on small but broken bed beside the road, where were noises and there were the crowds of Riksha pullers and passer by, in spite of, and under the heat of the sun these boys and girls were busy in studying, can Muslims take a lesson from them instead of blaming Ulema and Madrasas?

I would like to say to all Indian Muslims that their problems could be put on end within just few years if every Muslim decide to play a pivot role in building himself.

Mr. L.K. Advani is a leader of ………

By

Abdul Hannan Siwani Nadvi

Mr. L.K. Advani, once again, describes December 6th 1992 as a saddest day of his life, not because of Babri Masjid had pulled down on that day, but this day damaged the creditability of his party.

Mr. L.K. Advani is the leader who brought bad name to India. He is the leader who incited educated and illiterate Hindus against Muslims for just political reasons. He is the leader who is responsible for hundreds of thousands of death of Muslims and Hindus since his beginning the Rath Yatra to built temple on the same site where Babri Masjid was situated.

Mr. Advani is not apologetic over demolition of Babri Masjid. He is not apologetic over putting blot on Indian forehead. He is not apologetic over the death of thousands of Indian citizens because of his Rath Yatra and the seed of hatred he is sowing against Hindus and Muslims. He is not apologetic over Gujarat genocide of 2002. He is not apologetic over damaging India's oldest communal harmony culture. He is not apologetic over damaging of Indian economies following brutal attack on minority communities across India.

He is a selfish person. He just thinks about himself. He just thinks about his party. He just works for his party, but he forgets about India. He forgets that his hatred work is pushing Hindu youths into trouble. He forgets that his communal ideology is leaving negative impacts on Hindu community. He never thinks about empowering of India.

He thinks giving reservation to Muslims or allowing them to open their schools and institutions is not in the interest of the country, while he forgets India’s development lies in Muslims development.

He thinks strongest Muslim community is a threat to the ideologies whose leader he is; while he forgets a weak Muslim community is always been a blot on India.

He talks about nationalism and unity, but his work, ideologies, Rath Yatra and his support to anti-national ideology pushing Hindu youths into anti-national activities.

He would always been lived in the hearts of Indian people as a leader who has worked for the disunity of Indian community.

He would always been lived in the history of post-independence India as a leader whose every step and whose every speech increased more gulf in Indian society.

The people of India, regardless of their identities, fought with British forces for the Independence of India where every community would live freely; but their dream shattered when they saw from their own eyes that a leader from them is calling a particular community against another community and using hatred speech to get support from his own community.

Instead of expressing his pain, it is better for Mr. Advani to surrender himself before the court conceding his criminal act in Babri Masjid case and make an apology to the nation for his Rath Yatra that demolished Indian unity, and work for building the Babri Masjid on the same place where it was before 6th December 1992.

It will be a better and most important step to bring back the creditability of his own party if he leaves hatred and communal way, and works for India where every community, whether it is Hindu or Muslim live freely and help each others in building a strongest India that can present a best example of communal harmony in the world.

Will Mr. L.K. Advani do this? There is no possibility from him but we could hope from him a day he would concede his mistake as today he is accepting his work “badly dented the credibility of his party”.

No fly zone on Libya

By

Abdul Hannan Siwani Nadvi

The decision of slapping no fly zone over Libya is a very positive step taken by Arab League yesterday. It will help in preventing the lives of civilians from more casualties.

It is true, Arab people, leaders and Arab government were not ready to take this decision in very hasty manner, but there was no way except of that; because Muammar Gaddafi is not ready to lessen the appeal of Arab leaders in not targeting the civilians.

Various appeals and requests to Muammar Gaddafi for preventing of using excessive force against civilians leave no effect there. Every day the casualties of civilians are growing and some parts of Libya are presenting the scene of destruction and chaos.

The people of Libya themselves, whether they are from opposition party or from the supporters of Muammar Gaddafi do not want to push their country into war or foreign troops land there. But looking the current situation, it seems that Libya is moving into a long war.

If Mr. Muammar Gaddafi and his family members love their country, it is better for them to bring this violence and bombardment to an end and save their country from more chaos and disturbance.

This is the responsibility of Arab League to use all diplomatic ways to convince Muammar Gaddafi for not pushing the country into war or destruction. Violence and war do not represent any solution except landing this great country into loss and tragedies.

This is high time that all people of Libya work for unification of the country and work for its development and putting it on high level in the world in every filed.

I hope that Muammar Gaddafi will accept the appeal of world leaders and will resign from his post soon respecting the feelings of his people and Arab world.
